Easter 2009 - The Garden Station at Langley

This year’s Easter Calendar is based on four pictures of a garden at Langley, in southern Northumberland.

Come with us to a garden made in a place once devastated by industrial pollution. Find out about this transformation and reflect the new life celebrated at Easter.

If you would like to know more about this garden or would like to visit it, then information can be found by visiting the garden’s website at www.thegardenstation.co.uk

Clicking on each of the pictures activates a sequence of images and words that explore a theme. The four themes are:

  • Time – the history/background of the garden at Langley … and beyond,
  • Making Beauty – the creation of the garden & the art objects in it,
  • Finding Beauty – natural beauty in the garden,
  • Spring – seasonal changes/new life and the Easter story.

Each of the four sequences can be either viewed individually or downloaded and used as the basis of a reflective Collective Worship in the period before Easter.

Teacher Notes
